In Bit.Country, We Create
Mankind is this kind of species that is obsessed with creating things, which seems to have been a part of humanity for as long as humans have existed. From sandcastles to Lego, we never lose the eagerness to build something from nothing, or in another word, we are always in our pursuit of leaving behind a legacy in this universe. Given that blockchain has been one of the inevitable themes of this century, the concept of the metaverse brings to us made such a huge splash in the pond that even Facebook, a global tech giant that has been around for over a decade, has changed its name, which has been used for almost 20 years, to Meta, as in METAVERSE.
The concept of the metaverse is uniquely invented and inspired by one of blockchain’s most essential cores, a decentralized paradigm. Within the metaverse, everyone is allowed to have a second life in another dimension, and in this virtual dimension consisting of bits, everyone can create their own bit countries. This is what Bit.Country intends to offer, through which we may envisage that the metaverse will bring civilization a highway of information, trust, value, and happiness.
The Bit.Country Metaverse Network (Bit.Country) is an application framework and blockchain network allowing users to interact directly or builders to develop their experience. It is fully EVM-compatible as well so that developers can deploy their existing dApps (decentralized applications) or build brand new ones for Bit.Country. The vision is to allow anyone to create their communities, economies through their own bit countries, blocks, sections, and items, such as digital assets (NFTs), on the blockchain network.
The Bit.Country team works on designing the project with classical internet users in mind so that this freshly decentralized paradigm will be digested easily. Its UI provides users with both a classical 2D Timeline web view and a combination of voxel and polygon systems for a 3D world view of the country. The creation of users’ own countries plays a mirror to their minds and very distinguished cultures. If you’ve ever played Minecraft, the 3D mode of Bit.Country would look familiar.
However, Bit.Country is far more than Minecraft. Users can practically develop their own communities and economies in multi-metaverses that are completely interoperable with each other. Given that every Bit.Country owner will be most likely to have their own followers, they can realize certain value via their influence. The team feels that their destiny is to build this network so that it can bring real-world impact, and they want to provide ordinary people with opportunities of value to access this paradigm shift led by the blockchain revolution, wherein more common people of the world are able to earn a modest income by contributing to their own Bit.Country communities; and Bit.Country owners distribute value to their followers by generating greater influence through network expansion.
To achieve that, Bit.Country users can work on their own virtual world for their followers on Continuum as their first step. The Continuum is a grid map of metaverses with a limited number of coordinates. Each one of the metaverses users have created can participate in the auction for a spot for their bit country on the Continuum. The spots available on Continuum are determined by the on-chain logic, which would look like a quadratic function with the number of Continuum spots as the independent variable and the number of bit countries on-chain as the dependent variable. During the auction, once the spot is secured, the metaverse will have the opportunities to receive the platform and community’s recognition among other benefits that are to be determined. Newly generated slots will be proposed to the on-chain algorithm. The parameters for proposing new slots consist of the number of metaverses, land blocks, population, and activeness of the ecosystem.
One of the other interesting ideas coming from Bit.Country is the Good Neighbor Protocol which ensures the users have a word about who can be their neighbor. People can easily visit neighboring blocks while within a block, to which all the original contents created by users belong.
Each block has a topic the content within should adhere to. These contents can be visualized in a 3D voxel view, just like a more cyber style of Minecraft. Countless blocks make up the whole country. In there, all assets built on the sections are fully owned by the bit country residents who have created them.
Creating customizable economies in Bit.Country is achievable as well. Users can create their very own currency or import existing currency and use them to incentivize the followers or the community members who contribute. There will be boundless possibilities that creators will be able to build for their communities. As the community grows, the currency or tokens created by the community creator will gain value on the exchange, and every community member will benefit from it. Not only the access value, the community members, or in the Bit.Country preferred term, the residents, can also perform their governing rights through voting by holding the community tokens.
Bit.Country cannot possibly miss the NFTs on their way to actualizing the decentralized metaverse society, and that’s why they are designing the NFT marketplace where residents can trade their NFTs with each other within the same block, bit country, or even the entire Bit.Country network.
All these visions Bit.Country wants to realize are built on Substrate, which guarantees the developers with promising modules or pallets that are production-ready and capable of boosting the productivity of the protocol development, to fulfill their specific requirements such as tokenomics, the marketplace, the NFT management, staking, and governance. Moreover, Substrate technology is also the backbone of Polkadot so that Bit.Country network can seamlessly migrate into the Polkadot ecosystem and benefit from the shared security and the interoperable nature.
Although there are still lots of astonishing features within Bit.Country, the focus would be the core idea that Bit.Country would like to spread: To create mirrored, parallel metaverses where communities come first. In that projection of the real world, users will be fully exposed to each other from different cultures in harmony. Maybe that is the legacy humans sincerely would love to create and leave behind.
